If you forget your coffee in the microwave...

This week has been one of those "I reheat my mug of coffee every hour and still forget to drink it" kind of weeks. Please tell me you do that too, the constant battle of trying to finish a cup of coffee before you get distracted? I finally gave up trying to finish my hot coffee, and switched over to iced coffee for the afternoon.

We will see if that gets finished.
One reason for my inability to focus on my caffeine needs is that there is currently no room on my desk for a cup of any kind. Which is perhaps better because there are currently almost two hundred wedding invites waiting to be assembled, and one wrong move could mean hours of work becoming coffee tinted.

I've been taking breaks from staring at my computer screen to sit outside on our patio. In between planning out where my new seedlings will eventually call home, I have also been reading my recipe books from the library. I love my library. Seriously. I always have at least six different cookbooks, novels, gardening books, etc. checked out. Who needs to spend money? (besides the occasional late fee, haha)...

Well I better get back to work.

I'm beyond excited for these wedding invites...final product to be shared soon.

I usually find the surface of my desk about every other week. The upside? usually the messier it is the more work I am doing.

currently reading for new recipes.

various herbs, tomatoes, peppers, green beans, and garden peas waiting for summer...

P.S. Are you craving iced coffee now? I apologize, and to make amends here is the recipe on how to make it....Perfect Iced Coffee

Coffee on a Sunday

Sundays always seem to be a day where my coffee cup is often being filled. This afternoon I sat down to work on some designs and my breaks consisted of  leaning back in my chair, legs pulled up to my chest, with both hands wrapped around my steaming mug. Mmmm.

Below you will find a few coffee inspired treasures (one of mine included). Click on the photos or title to be taken to the item's page.

Coffee has a Holiday?

(enjoying an iced coffee a few months ago)

So rumor...or facebook...told me that it is National Coffee Day. (I don't really know if this is true or not but I figured since the name of this blog contains coffee I better at least mention it) With that being said, if this rumor is false, oh well.
To celebrate I drank almost an entire pot of coffee myself.

 One cup before work

A travel mug full of coffee while the students were at phy-ed./music.

And lastly a lovely mug of rewarmed coffee...now.

oops. (good thing I don't work tomorrow because chances are I won't be going to sleep anytime soon)

I'm treating today as my Friday. Whoop.

Oh and on a similar note, my lovely friend Bekah shared this article with me. (click on title below to read)

For women, risk of depression falls as coffee intake rises

So the study doesn't prove cause and effect......but at least I can continue rationalizing the reasons for my coffee addiction.

Right?! (just let me believe it)

Waking up to Coffee

I love being home of my childhood because it still is in many ways "home".  All my belongings may be gone, but it is still very much has the comforts of home.

(haha okay that's a lie I still have a bedroom closet full of my stuff)

But do you want to know what one of my favorite little things is about being home?

There is always a fresh hot pot of coffee waiting for me when I get up.

I am convinced that coffee is much better when you didn't even have to think about making it.

Thanks Dad.

Or Mom...(whoever happened to make it on this fine morning)

Coffee tonight

Okay. So I KNOW I shouldn’t be drinking coffee at 9 o’clock at night. Bad idea. But here is the thing... it was a craving. I just desperately needed a little bit of coffee flavored caffeine in my bloodstream. So you may be hearing from me in ohh about three hours. But hopefully I will be blissfully asleep (and immune to the caffeine).

My coffee

Every morning my coffee maker goes off at 6am (it is rather loud so it serves as my back-up alarm). As I hear the beans grinding I crawl out of bed and slowly wake up as I get ready for the day. By the time I get on the interstate to my school the sun is up and my coffee (2nd cup of the morning) is in my travel mug ready to go. I wouldn't go as far as to say I wake up in the morning for my coffee, but it certainly is an incentive. It's thursday tomorrow people. Live it up!

5 hours in a Coffee Shop

Here is the status...

Two lesson plans...almost done :)
Blog updated to new site.
One cup of coffee
One bagel sandwich
Good chats with Bekah

And now...more homework, but first more coffee? It is happy hour afterall. Why haven't I discovered this earlier? It's probably a good thing though that I was oblivious that coffee happy hours existed.
