rain

It's been raining for the last two days. I'm alright with this because it has been a cozy few days, but I know I will soon want to feel the sunshine on my face. At work the kids have been going a little stir-crazy inside, so I'm sure today won't be any different.

I was hoping to post more pictures today from Seattle, but my computer has a mind of its own lately (I'm using the husband's computer now)...so that will have to wait. Is it possible for a computer to have an attitude problem? Because I swear mine does.

My goals for the rainy day:

finish my second cup of coffee

keep the kids busy all day

meet the husband for lunch

perhaps....clean the apartment while listening to Adele

give my computer a piece of my mind and then pathetically beg for it to work.

work on a secret little project. shhhh.

and a coffee date with a friend.

Sounds lovely to me.

Seattle Part 4: a line for coffee

If you didn't happen to already know this Seattle is home to the first Starbucks. Of course we figured we might as well experience it with the high hopes that it would be the best Starbucks that has ever graced our lips. In the end however it was pretty typical for most good coffee places. The one exception to this was that Zach's coffee had a overly scorched taste to it...

We actually had to wait in line for awhile outside the building, but it was a gorgeous day out and there was some live music out front. It was pretty humorous to see people taking photos with anything  that had the Starbucks emblem on it. I am pretty easy to please when it comes to coffee so I can't really call myself a pure Starbucks fan. I will usually take my coffee from anywhere that serves a decent cup.

Coffee in hand we walked around the market for a little while longer and then headed to a park to enjoy the day.

Seattle Part 3: Pikes Place Market

We walked down to Pikes Place Market for the beginning of our afternoon. This is where they throw the fish around from person to person (if you know what I am referring to then this will make sense). We saw this happen but I didn't get any photos of it. The fish tossing was entertaining but I have to admit that the fresh flowers were my favorite. They were gorgeous and ridiculously cheap compared to your typical florist. Everything inside of me wanted to buy a bouquet but I didn't have anywhere to put them (no vase), and we weren't planning on spending enough time in our hotel room to even enjoy looking at them. So I stared at them for as long as I could and took a few photos. Ben sweetly informed that if we were in fact to live in Seattle he would bring me these beautiful bouquets on a regular basis. Everywhere we went there were people carrying around their paper wrapped bouquets, and I reminded myself that I would regret having to carry around my flowers for the entire day because we weren't planning on returning to our hotel anytime soon. Bekah and I were pretty close to breaking down and chipping in a few bucks each to share a bouquet but alas our logical sides took over.
The other wonderful thing to look at was all the delicious fresh produce. They had any type of fruit or vegetable you could imagine, and they all looked delicious. Ellie bought a few cherries that she shared with us, but other than that we pretty much walked on through the market. It was Saturday of Memorial Day weekend so it was a pretty busy place.

Coming up next....Starbucks.
